Fixing Lakewood Forum - What is our point?

Who are we, really?  What is our purpose?  Are we simply another online community, another blog, or can we be something more?

We're a group of Lakewood residents concerned about the town's decline and increasing disrepair.  We're focused on finding solutions and exploring what can be done to improve the situation.  We're open to new perspectives and welcome guest contributions. We would love if the conversation can continue in the comments. If you'd like to join the conversation with an article or idea of your own, please email us at fixingLakewood@gmail.com.

What are our goals?
Our primary goal is to improve Lakewood.  Even small improvements for a single resident or a specific area contribute to the overall objective.  Frankly, we're not entirely sure how best to achieve this, which is why we're seeking suggestions and feedback on existing ideas. We would like to put a focus on the issues pertaining to Lakewood leadership. We will not post hearsay or subjective issues - only verified objective issues.

We invite our fellow residents of Lakewood to join us in raising awareness about the issues that need to be addressed in our community.  We hope you'll join our mission to make a positive impact.

  1. Will you ever discuss real issues that affect people in Lakewood or that's not relevant?

  4. Text checks out as being generated by AI. What a joke, the fraudster calling everyone else fake.

    1. Who is the fraudster and who is being called fake? And yes. You are correct. A few of the articles were spruced up using AI. Is that an issue? What AI produces depends on the input. Is it more than a glorified editor?
You seem a bit bitter and seem to have some sort of agenda. Maybe one day you will share what it is...

    2. As it so happens to be, most of this article was not edited by AI. Let us see if you can figure out which part was?

  5. If you want this site to provide any benefit, you need to control the comments section better. Otherwise you will just look like Yudel's. Don't allow the long runon sentences/stream of consciousness, no hints (you-know-who from Queens), and no personal unfounded attacks (Ploini likes money so he did xyz).

By allowing the nonsense you allowed, you are effectively censoring away anyone with something of substance to add. Twenty years of the Internet has shown that no censorship brings us to 8chan and its ilk.

    1. Very good advice. We will IYH try to create a list of guidelines. It's not so easy, though, so if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

  6. Why only 'jewish' residents of Lakewood. Shouldnt this be open to all? Whoever you are you seem a little 'green' under the collar. Please edit to welcome all residents of Lakewood ;)
